2020 Spring Concert Cancelled

We are so sad that, due to the Coronavirus, we have to cancel our May 17 Spring Concert. We were making great progress on the Brahms Requiem when the virus hit. We are all fine, but because of the stay at home order we had to cancel rehearsals.

Our plan is to postpone the Requiem until Spring 2021. When we can start rehearsals again, we'll begin work on our Christmas Concert and try to keep working on the Brahms Requiem as well. We really miss singing and being together. We miss our wonderful music.

Save the date for our Christmas Concert, December 13, 2020. We will announce when our rehearsals begin again. Sing Out!

Singers wanted - Brahms Requiem

The Pass Chorale Spring Concert on May 17, 2020 will feature the Brahms German Requiem, sung in English. We are hoping there are singers out there that could join us for this wonderful work. Rehearsals begin on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at the Gathering Hall at Dorothy Ramon Learning Center, 127 N San Gorgonio Ave., Banning.

2019 Christmas Concert Rehearsals Begin

The Pass Chorale will begin rehearsals for our 2019 Celebration of Christmas on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, 7 pm, Gathering Hall at Dorothy Ramon Learning Center, 127 N. San Gorgonio Ave., Banning.
We welcome new singers!

We will be Learning the Missa di Gloria by Giacomo Puccini. Puccini is known for his operas, but this sacred work for chorus, soloists, and orchestra, is beautiful, and some of the melodies do remind you of his operas.

In addition, we sing several Christmas anthems. Its always wonderful to sing Christmas music! Especially during the hot summer!

The concert is scheduled for December 8, 2019 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Banning.

Spring Concert a Wonderful Experience

It was so wonderful and meaningful to sing the "Fauré Requiem" with orchestra. It is such a beautiful work. We also had two original compositions by our singers, "Requiem for a Sister" by Rhonert Pascual was a joy to learn and perform as well. A tribute to our military and veterans, Warrior's Heart with When Johnny Comes Marching Home" by Phillip Marscizewski was difficult to learn and very rewarding when we finally performed it.

Rehearsals for  our Christmas Concert begin on June 25.

Change of Plans

Because a number of our singers retired, moved away, or had conflicts with our concert date, we are unable to perform the Mozart Great Mass at this time. It requires two choirs and multiple soloists. Therefore, we have had to regroup and choose another piece.

We will now perform the beautiful Requiem by Gabriel Fauré. It can be done with fewer singers and soloists. We are excited to learn this. Since we are starting from the beginning, we can accept new singers. Please join us if you have singing experience, especially if you have sung the Fauré!

The concert is scheduled for May 19, 2019 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Banning.

Rehearsals Begin for Spring Concert, Welcome New Singers

The Pass Chorale will begin rehearsals for our Spring Concert on Tuesday, January 22. The featured work for this concert is Mozart's Mass in C minor, K. 427, the Great Mass! This beautiful work is also very challenging, with glorious solos (Mozart wrote some of these for his wife) and choruses.

There will also be anthems, including original works by local composers, Phillip Marcizewski and Rhonert Pascual. There will be a salute to the military in honor or Armed Forces Day.

Pass Chorale "Celebration of Christmas"

The Pass Chorale and orchestra will present their annual Celebration of Christmas concert on December 9, 2018 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Banning. The featured work, "The Bells of Christmas,"is by Cherry Valley composer and performer, Phillip Marcizewski. It is based on the text or some Christmas carols, but with very different vocal and instrumental treatment. This is the first time the work will be performed and Phillip is now working on the orchestra parts. It is a joy leaning this piece!

But wait, there's more! There will be several Christmas anthems and our traditional Carol Sing-Along! This is always a very moving way to get into the Christmas spirit.

And there's a wonderful reception with great refreshments too.
