Calling all Singers, rehearsals begin for the Pass Chorale Spring Concert on Tuesday, January 22, 2013.
Beaumont celebrated its Centennial in 2012 and Banning will
do so in 2013. The Spring concert will have special presentations to honor
these events.
The Spring Concert on May 19, 2013 will feature American
composers, especially those with connections to southern California. The major
work will be Lux Aeterna by Morten Lauridsen, a composer based in Los Angeles
who went to USC with Ernest Siva and June Siva.
This
concert will also feature local fiddler, Bill Bell and some of his Stagecoach
Music. Mr. Bell also discovered music for the “Song of Banning,” and he is
making an arrangement for the Chorale. We may even sing the Banning High alma
mater. There will be Native American songs from the Pass Area, and much more.
Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings, 7 – 8:30 pm, San
Manuel Gathering Hall at Dorothy Ramon Learning Center, 127 N. San Gorgonio
Ave. in Banning. We need more singers to participate in this special concert.
If you have singing experience, please join us. For further information contact
Artistic Director, Ernest Siva at 951-849-4676 or siva@dishmail.net., or www.passchorale.blogspot.com .
